Ok so circling back to the group on this, when the media portion of the call comes up I could suggest that we break it down into two parts, the social/multimedia portion, where maybe Katie can lay out tentative plans for that kind of thing and suggest that we can knock it all out the next time she does videos, and then we can run through the earned media stuff.

Craig maybe you can download on what you are talking to TIME about and any other publications that don’t require her time as a pre-requisite, then at the end we can talk briefly about and take her temperature on doing something with TV, either an Ellen or a Fallon. I can lay out the collective thinking from the consultants and personal office team (and do so objectively since I think this is a close call), and we can see what she thinks.

Sound good to everyone?

But I’d like to talk to HRC about it before we nail the coffin shut. Wouldn’t be until Tuesday. I can expand on this shortly or get on the phone.

Nick,
We are going to take silence as a lack of assent in this case as time is growing short. Craig, can we move on and you reach out to Seth Meyers and begin that conversation?

Nick,
Checking in as discussed on the Fallon piece here. If you can let us know the state of play today we can move forward either way. Thanks.

Her doing media around the launch is very appealing, but will also for all of the obvious reasons require some discussion. I’m going to feel it out over here and try to come back with some thoughts as soon as I can, recognizing that we need to make a overall decision, and soon, before we talk nitty gritty.

Well if she went on before the 9th she could tape it and use it to open the event. The show also said if she did tape prior to the 9th they would re-air the episode on or around the 9th.

So is next step to approach Seth Meyers for the event? His wife does some sort of human rights work and he was featured at a recent Vital Voices dinner in NYC so perhaps he would do?

They will do a viral video if HRC comes on the show as a guest to discuss NC and they can tape it with her while she’s there (this is how they did the viral video with Bill Gates for the Gates Letter).

If she’s willing to do the show, I think it would be a great opportunity with a tremendous return but this is the only way the show sees this working.

Let me know if you want to pursue.

Thanks.
